A person who is an adult can be described as a person or animal who is at complete growth.The biological meaning of the term is animals that have reached sexual maturity and thus capable of reproducing. In the context of humans an adult's term has meanings associated with social and legal concepts. Contrary to those who are who is not considered to be an adult or "minor" legally adult is a person who has reached the age of majority that makes them independent, capable, and responsible. The term "major" can be used to describe these individuals. The point at which a person becomes an adult legally is 18, however, the definition of legal maturity may differ based on the legal or country system as well as the state of their mental health.

Human development is the time in which full physical and mental maturity is attained. Typically, the age of adulthood is around age 21, or 20. The middle age begins at approximately 40 and is followed by the old age of about 60. The three main stages of adulthood include early adulthood (from mid-30s to late-60s) and middle adulthood, from the mid-30s through late-60s, and finally adulthood, (mid-60s until death). As we enter early adulthood the body is at its full physical maturity. Yet, our body's size and weight could rise. As we enter our early twenties, our physical abilities reach their peak. These include muscle strength as well as reaction speed.
