Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. It is widely believed that she was the one who beginning the current research into the study of eyewitness memory and child victim witnesses within court contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants and has been honored with several international and national prizes. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the globe on policy as well as research on children who are victims of the justice system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of several professional associations, which include those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
